承襲80年代風靡英倫浪漫樂派的非法執事合唱團Deacon Blue，1989年以一首When The World Knows Your Name擊敗流行天后瑪丹娜Like A Prayer而聲名大噪，1985年成立於英國Glasgow，團名取自於洛杉磯搖滾團體Steely Dan1978年專輯Aja中的單曲Deacon Blues，除了以搖滾為音樂之基本元素外，他們亦在其中加入靈魂及爵士的音樂元素，在成立初期於英國各地酒吧及校園演出而備受年輕學子所喜愛，並進而累積了許多歌迷，算是80年代末期最受矚目的英倫浪漫樂派樂團之一，總共發表了Raintown、When the World Knows Your Name、Fellow Hoodlums、Whatever You Say, Say Nothing、I Was Right and You Were Wrong五張專輯，1994年發表完I Was Right and You Were Wrong後解散並於199年再度重組並發行Walking Back Home。首支單曲於英國發行時Dignity並未受到注意，隨後此輯Raintown於1987年五月發行，超過90場的小型全英巡迴同時展開，第二支單曲Loaded於六月發行仍未打進全英排行榜，直到第三支單曲When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring)才打進全英排行榜而開始受到注目，並開始受邀前往歐陸各地宣傳而大受歡迎，同年並重回錄音室重新灌錄Dignity。

1988年一月重新發行的作品Dignity於發行後隨即登上全英TOP 31並於88年成功的打進全美搖滾榜，Deacon Blue於是信心大增，並於二月重新發行此專輯Raintown，於新版中加收了Riches、Kings Of The Western World二首新歌及11首B-sides加現場演唱的作品，專輯發行即刻銷售超過二萬張並登上全英專輯榜TOP 14，隨後發行的When Will You Make My Telephone Ring、Chocolate Girl二首單曲亦受到歌迷喜愛亦打進全英單曲榜。此輯可說是他們的里程碑流行經典，並獲得網路專業樂評AMG四顆半星超高評價，是喜歡英倫浪漫樂派的歌迷們不能錯過的超值專輯。
