此張專輯是指揮家湯瑪士‧當福德為華納古典廠牌所規劃的第一個錄音計畫：就是要錄製一張全部都是出自於韓德爾所創作的曲目專輯，並帶領由他所創立的朱彼特合奏團一同錄製，且湯瑪士‧當福德自己也同時演奏魯特琴。
此專輯也特別邀請兩位新生代聲樂家一同加入，包括次女高音莉亞‧德珊德以及與她搭檔合作多年的英國假聲男高音伊斯丁‧戴維斯。此張專輯的概念源自於想將這兩種美麗的聲音結合在一起，並透過韓德爾最優美與充滿靈性的音樂來講述一個愛情故事。他們兩人在疫情期間大量研究韓德爾的英語作品，尤其是例如：神劇、詠嘆調等，用以講述兩位英雄之間強烈的愛情故事。湯瑪士‧當福德稱這個作品為「巴洛克時期的西城故事」。
