2021年是小提琴大師葛魯米歐（Arthur Grumiaux，1921-1986）誕生100週年，DECCA唱片公司特別將其以往於Philips唱片公司出版的所有錄音重新整理，並發行這套精美的限量大全集以為紀念。
葛魯米歐以小提琴演奏與教學聞名於世，為法比派最佳代言人，他出生於比利時鄉下的Charleroi。幼年未學音樂以前，就能清楚說出教堂鐘聲的音名，因這天賦的絕對音感促使他父母延請老師來教他學鋼琴。
3歲開始以長條木頭練習運弓，後來由祖父那裏獲得一把四分之一尺寸的琴，開始了他的學習。5歲舉行第一場演奏會，獲得一致讚揚。6歲開始學鋼琴，9歲進入沙勒洛瓦音樂院學習小提琴與鋼琴，11歲就以兩項第一名畢業，不過後來還是決定以提琴演奏為主。12歲進入布魯塞爾皇家音樂院，師從杜布瓦（易沙意的學生），亦學習作曲。
1939年贏得「魏奧當小提琴大賽」與「普魯梅（François Hubert Prume）大賽」首獎，1940年再獲得比利時政府新設立的「比利時演奏家特殊獎」，同年再前往巴黎跟隨恩奈斯可短期進修。
二次大戰期間，葛魯米歐積極參與勞軍行列。1945年在英國與BBC交響樂團合作演出獲得成功，從此活躍於國際舞台。1949年繼杜布瓦接任布魯塞爾音樂院小提琴教授，1951年出任「易沙意國際小提琴大賽」評審。之後應比利時皇后之邀，與歐依史特拉夫合作巴哈雙小提琴協奏曲成為樂壇盛事，1973年被比利時皇室封為男爵。
葛魯米歐的演奏技巧是正統的法國系統，風格高尚優雅，他不僅擅長傳統的經典曲目如莫札特、貝多芬與帕格尼尼的小提琴協奏曲，對於現代作品也相當拿手，如貝爾格、史特拉汶斯基、華爾頓等人的小提琴協奏曲。他最著名的錄音當屬巴哈的六首無伴奏組曲與奏鳴曲，以及與鋼琴家哈絲姬兒合作的貝多芬小提琴奏鳴曲全集。
這套全集共收錄74張CD以及一本100頁的解說冊，其中更包含首度全球發行的錄音-莫札特《為小提琴與管弦樂團所創作的E大調慢板》K261與《輪旋曲》K373。這些作品在葛魯米歐手中像是渾圓的珍珠，粒粒完美，一如他的弓法，毫不馬虎。再加上穩健的演奏風格，成就了這些作品最經典的詮釋，也令其他演奏家版本難出其右。
