德國音樂家艾森巴哈是一名才華洋溢的音樂家。他不只是鋼琴獨奏家，同時也擅長聲樂伴奏以及管弦樂指揮。1965年，艾森巴哈因為得到哈絲姬兒國際鋼琴大賽首獎走上職業演奏生涯，但是他在1964年就與DG簽約。從1960年代中期到1970年代中期，艾森巴哈在DG錄製這一套讓人驚異的錄音，涵蓋由淺到深的鋼琴教學曲目，最全面收錄每個鋼琴學生在學習過程中都會遇到，但是大部分鋼琴家在錄音室裡都不會選擇的曲目。
從入門的拜爾鋼琴教程開始，有適合初學學生以及手掌不夠大的孩童學習的布爾格彌勒二十五首練習曲，訓練基本演奏技巧的徹爾尼練習曲；從巴哈二聲部創意曲、三聲部創意曲到克萊門替、狄亞貝里、杜塞克、庫勞的小奏鳴曲；從海頓、莫札特、貝多芬程度較低的作品，到孟德爾頌《無言歌》全集這一套鋼琴曲目的瑰寶。大部分錄音過去只在日本出版，現在首度在國際上發行，是送給所有鋼琴學子的最佳禮物。
